IGN: Sony Ericsson Xperia Play UK Review

The idea of a PlayStation phone certainly isn't a new thing. When the original PSP was announced back in the mid-2000s rumour was that a mobile device would be released alongside the standalone console. Gamers kept waiting, but this never happened. Sounds like this is more a phone than a handheld console. Waiting for more NGP news.

I have one and emulators are so much fun on the move with proper controls. PSone games work great too. I just would like a wider choice but it is to be expected at launch.

Isn't that the point of a PlayStation phone?. I mean that's why the NGP it's coming out for, to satisfy all your Handheld needs.

Yea true, but at that price one would expect something more. Not just a phone that's "PlayStation Certified".

Lots of people still dont 'get' what this phone is about. With everyone comparing it to the NGP/3DS, that'd be like comparing any phone with a keyboard to a laptop.
This is a great Android phone with the benefit of a control pad. If you only play Angry birds, then its not the phone for you. If you'd like some FPS action while sat on the bus/train/loo then this is perfect. And as said above, its perfect for emulators.
