MWEB GameZone writes: "Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer and former speech writer for Bill Gates, Chris Capossela, went into detail about Microsoft pushiness regarding Windows 10 upgrades.

Here is a look at Mr. Capossela's unapologetic response."

Except it's not their choice which OP people should use.

Sillicur3097d ago

Yeh. Although I understand the whole idea of having everyone on one OS, if I would rather like to be on Windows 7 it is my choice.

Currently using Win 10 + Office 2016 and it is rather nice. But choice matters, a lot.

Yi-Long3096d ago

I want my current PC to stick with Windows 7. I even disabled Updates because I don't want the Update forced upon me, which puts me on a security risk, which shouldn't be necessary.

I'm OK with getting Windows 10 on a new PC, but that should be MY choice.

I'm sticking to Win 7 until EOL (2020?).

Until DX12 games show significant improvements will I upgrade to Win 10.

Theres a new API coming soon called Vulkan, it is said it has great performance leap and makes developments easier for devs so hopefully no more DX exclusivity.

there are some bugs still but everything is working fine now, last thing was updating my sound card. yes everyone should have a choice but some fear change. not sure why the big deal to upgrade if its free.

Why o why3096d ago

True. . I kinda prefer 10 over 8 especially the ui. Choice is good though.

I'm going back to Windows 7 soon.

UltraNova3095d ago

Good for you but you might want to share some details on why...

cyclindk3095d ago

Everything, performance-wise, being faster/snappier in every way.

UltraNova3095d ago

I'm avoiding W10 like the plague if I'm honest but I will have to 'upgrade' by July since I dont wont to pay MS for Windows.

From what I've read so far it seems W10 is on par with windows 7 or better in most performance scenarios.

How come you experience the exact opposite? Could your PC/laptop specs be the reason why?

cyclindk3094d ago

Both my and my girlfriend's laptops have suffered. I have an i7 with 16 GB of RAM, seems faster than when it was running Windows 8, but hasn't come anywhere near as close as ANY computer I have run Windows 7 on.

Performance, not to mention general familiarity with "where things are" make 7 the choice for me. 10 improved over 8, but both are downgrades from 7 in many important areas for me, in my opinion. I would be much happier/cope-better with 10 if not for the "unnecessary" changes (nothing doing with performance).

DragoonsScaleLegends3094d ago

I noticed speed improvements over 7 in Windows 8 but in 10 it's too buggy to notice the improvements. It's especially buggy with the audio driver and mail app. Occasionally I'll even run into weird bugs with file explorer that I would not expect to ever experience in a consumer Windows build.
