I ended up with a Nexus 4 even with the no expandable memory problem as well, mainly because the price was right.

the nexus line are very good and are roughly 200 pounds less than the htc flagships so its more forgivable. Tbh i still like my galaxy nexus but the signal has been always been quite quirky and the camera is okay but nothing special so im probably going to root and customise the hell out of it soon(searching for quides etc atm)
