The New York Times: The Obama administration has determined that it must retaliate against China for the theft of the personal information of more than 20 million Americans from the databases of the Office of Personnel Management, but it is still struggling to decide what it can do without prompting an escalating cyberconflict.
A cyberattack kept the whole country's government offline for a month.
But TikTok is trying to limit that access in the US.
Is alien life real? Has China discovered evidence of extraterrestrial civilizations? The detection of new possible artificial signals, according to the
Retaliate? Are they positive this wasn't the NSA outsourcing jobs to the Chinese?
Uh oh! Things are about to get real. WW3 is inevitable, it will start in Cyber war first then the real war.
Harden your infrastructure and stop being a dumbass.
Seriously, of all the times to retaliate, you chose this? You're just going to push them to more attacks.
This is really about posturing for people that don't know any better. Pump up that legacy Obama. The reality is we owe China so much money we will only do so much to piss them off. Add that China and Russia have gotten so chummy of late, and Russia is already pissed at us, that we would be retaliating against the second largest economy and the world's largest oil exporter at the same time. Since we have also pissed off our "friends" by spying on them even on a personal level we should focus on strengthening in-house and less looking to push our luck.
We've spent too much time pointing out our enemies and even more poking our friends. Lets try less hypocrisy.
