DigitFreak: Microsoft has launched Surface Book, an advanced and hybrid laptop capable of beating every other laptop including MacBook Pro with its larger screen, faster processor and cool looks.
Vision Pro is here and it’s a surprisingly capable device. Apple has also loaded the headset with a ton of options and features that aren’t obvious at first glance.
Ringing the changes: All the news, rumors, and tips you missed last week.
Apple is anticipated to announce the new OLED iPad Pro this spring. Although there has been considerable speculation about the product, it’s always reassuring when Apple officially confirms certain features through upcoming software updates.
I've fixed the images on some of these past submissions of yours. Please in the future make sure the image isn't broken on submission.( I always found it best to download/upload it to be honest. )
Perhaps, but I’m betting it’s much more stable than any other similar-ish laptop/tablet with a screen rotate or screen removal. The hinge and joint looks like a quality design (as is the entire laptop imho).
It may be $200 more, but at twice the speed, and with the tablet-style functionality, it has me wanting to to sell my Macbook Pro and trade up. (Or at the very least, own both)
On a related note, while I’m happier with Win10 than prior Windows releases, the lack of a *nix style command line makes OSX still win out for me. An almost perfect solution would be OSX + the Surface Book.
You nailed it! Microsoft knows it can’t eat either of Apple’s tablet market share or its laptop market shares independently. BUT it can redefine the market to where they’re no longer distinguishable (tablet or laptop. Why not both?). At that point it’s a fresh playing field and MSFT has a head start.
What a great game of chess between these two companies.
I think the real message that Microsoft is sending here is “hey Apple...time to start innovating again. We’re catching up and passing you!” The new lineups from Microsoft and Dell are obvious shots across the bow of Apple. I switched to a Dell XPS13 from a MacBook pro 13” a few months ago, and I have never looked back once.
Seriously...what’s the last big innovation that the MacBook lineup has seen? The force touch mousepad? Seriously...come on Apple! Whenever I look at OSX I always think... “oh hello 2010, how are you?” lol
If Apple doesn’t release SOME sort of touch capable OSX update with a touch-enabled laptop/tablet device in the next year, I might lose all faith in them.
Time to replace my dell inspiron 11 3000. Finally there's a windows machine done right.
It's time for Apple to do some serious thinking. They can no longer afford to sell products based on their past glory. They need to innovate and innovate fast before it's too late for them.
